From Town & Country

Both Meghan Markle and Dr. Jill Biden are ready for spring. The First Lady and the Duchess of Sussex were both spotted in cheery Oscar de la Renta dresses in the past weeks, underscoring the overlap between political and royal style—and between the pair's individual tastes.

Biden wore Oscar de la Renta's Citrus Primavera Belted Day Dress on Monday, to attend the State Department's International Women of Courage Award Ceremony. The event honored 21 women from around the world "who have demonstrated exceptional courage and leadership in advocating for peace, justice, human rights, gender equality, and women's empowerment, often at great personal risk and sacrifice," the State Department said the week before the ceremony.

And for her part, the Duchess opted to wear a very similar dress from the same label for a virtual appearance with Spotify—the audio streaming company that the Sussexes are creating podcasts with, under the banner of Archewell Audio. Harry and Meghan appeared during Spotify's Stream On event, held on February 22, to explain what they hoped to accomplish. "We created Archewell Audio so we could elevate voices that maybe aren't being heard, and hear people's stories," the Duchess explained. (Watch the full clip below.)

It isn't unheard of that these two women might wear similar clothing—particularly given that the dresses are still available for sale, and not years-old purchases, dug out of their respective closets by chance—but some have chosen to read into it, given that the First Lady wore her dress just one day after Harry and Meghan's interview with Oprah aired. "I don't believe in coincidences," tweeted Kate Bennett, a CNN reporter on the FLOTUS beat.
