This story contains spoilers for Ramy Season Two.

We're long overdue for a new season of Ramy, folks. That said? We're learning more about the next season of the series, which we'll certainly see some new faces on screen. The hit Hulu series, loosely based on creator Ramy Youssef's own life, has been an Emmy-nominated hit for its past couple of seasons—particularly for its history of brining a fresh perspective on the Muslim-American experience to life.

For the past two seasons of the show, we've watched (the fictional!) Ramy Youssef toe the line between growing up and living in an Egyptian community that views life as a moral test, as well as contrasting attitudes of those in his generation. Season Two saw Ramy once again struggling with his faith, tirelessly searching for spiritual connection and growth. It's too soon to tell if Season Three will see the same fate as its predecessors, of course, but that won't stop us from running down everything we know about the upcoming season so far.

What Will Go Down in Season Three?

The last season ended on a turbulent note. Ramy confessed to his new bride, who, by the way, also happens to be the daughter of his Sheikh and mentor. If you'll remember, he was unfaithful to her with his cousin the night before the wedding. So, Ramy's partner takes off, along with her father, who lashes out at his former pupil. Ramy is left with nowhere to go, especially since the dire state of his marriage is still a secret from his family. The show ends on an open-ended note, with Ramy meeting up with Dennis, the veteran from Iraq he befriended earlier in the season.

As of right now, it's unclear where Youssef intends to drive the Emmy-nominated show in its third season, but there are certainly some areas he intends to explore further. In the new season, Ramy may finally come to terms with his selfish and destructive behaviors. "Ramy will really be dealing with who he is in a much clearer way than we've ever seen, and having to understand what his actual connection to his faith is," the creator said to Entertainment Weekly back in 2020. "It's almost like Ramy's been using his faith as a crutch, and I'm ready to see him deconstruct that and connect in more genuine ways."

Youssef later added that Ramy "really does mean well, and I will never take that away from him, but he needs to realize that that's not enough."

New Faces Are In Store For the Ramy-verse

Like previous seasons, we can expect Youssef to be joined by series regulars Laith Nakli, Hiam Abbass, Amr Waked, May Calamawy, Dave Merheje, Mohammed Amer, and Steve Way. Beyond the usual crew, we can expect to see some new faces in the cast. Variety reports that supermodel Bella Hadid will join Season Three's cast in a recurring role. It will mark the Dutch-Palestinian model's first-ever acting role. Alongside Hadid, War Dogs's Julian Sergi is another new face to look out for in future episodes. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sergi is set to play Yuval, Ramy’s new business partner.

After the events of Season Two left Mahershala Ali's character storming off in anger, it's unclear whether we'll Academy Award-winning actor grace our screens once more. According to Youssef, we shouldn't rule out the possibility just yet. "I think the way we ended things gives us an option. In terms of the realities of the world, [Ali is] a busy guy, but in terms of story, I think there's more. These two are linked in a real way, and I'm excited to explore more of that," Youssef said of Ali and his character.

When Will Season Three Premiere?

It looks like the new season of the hit show is coming sooner than we thought. Hulu recently announced that Ramy Season Three will debut on September 30. On that note, we should all prepare ourselves for a new trailer to drop any time now.
