While many Americans celebrated Thanksgiving away from their loved ones in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19, President Donald Trump held a vicious press conference from behind a very tiny desk.

In the weeks since he lost the election, the president has made very few public appearances and blatantly refused to answer questions from the press. However, when he finally emerged on November 26 to hold a Thanksgiving address, many were focused more on his choice of furniture than what he had to say—which mostly consisted of yelling at reporters after conducting a video conference call with U.S. troops.

“May this be how we remember the Trump presidency: a baby at his tiny little desk throwing a tantrum,” one Twitter user wrote.

It's important to note this small table has been used in the past when presidents sign major legislation, like signing a new bill, as it's easier for people to gather around them for photos. In fact, Trump sat at this exact desk and couldn't help but remark about its size in 2017, calling it “a child's desk” and “the smallest desk I've ever seen,” and joking that it was “glamorous.”

However, seeing Trump sitting behind the desk alone hit different and led people on Twitter to make a lot of jokes, as well as inspired a new wave of memes.

Soon after the press conference, “Tiny Desk,” “Resolute Desk,” and #DiaperDon began trending on Twitter, which resulted in Trump calling out the social media platform for sending out “totally false ‘Trends’ that have absolutely nothing to do with what is really trending in the world.”

He added, “They make it up, and only negative ‘stuff.’”

Though Donald Trump's tiny desk was clearly the star of the event, he did say—for the first time since he lost the 2020 election—that he promises to physically leave the White House if the Electoral College confirms Joe Biden as the next president.

“Certainly I will, and you know that,” he replied to the reporter who asked the question. “But I think there will be a lot of things happening between now and the 20th of January. A lot of things. Massive fraud has been found. We're like a third-world country.”

As for whether he plans to attend Biden's inauguration in January 2021, Trump refused to confirm. Instead he replied, “I know the answer to that, but I don’t want to say it yet.”
