Donald Trump made the so-called "war on Christmas" a part of his campaign pitch last year, saying “You go to stores, you don’t see the word Christmas. It says ‘happy holidays’ all over. I say, ‘Where’s Christmas?’ I tell my wife, ‘Don’t go to those stores.’ . . . I want to see Christmas.”

We're not sure which stores he or Flotus were frequenting - as far as we can tell, every retail establishment between 5th Avenue and Rodeo Drive decks the halls the moment Thanksgiving is finished - but as promised, the Trumps did not go light on Christmas this year.

And today they released an official holiday message: "Merry Christmas from President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump," the first lady posted on Twitter Thursday along with the above official 2017 Christmas portrait.

The photograph was taken by Andrea Hanks on December 5, and it features the president and first lady posing in black-tie attire in the Cross Hall of the White House.

The first couple is standing between two of the White House's 53 Christmas trees - the official one is a Balsam fir that stands at a staggering 19 and a half feet in the Grand Foyer.
