Donald Glover Hints That Lando Calrissian STAR WARS Series Is Still a Thing
Star Wars continues to deliver great stories in a galaxy far, far away with shows like The Mandalorian. There are so many characters and places ripe for exploration in this universe, whether they are from books or previous films. Fans loved Andor, which dove into its titular character’s wild life with a brilliant narrative and epic action. Now, Donald Glover and Lucasfilm are currently in talks about bringing us one step closer to that Lando Calrissian Star Wars series on Disney+.
We began to hear rumors of a Lando Calrissian TV series back in 2020, which was basically a decade ago. And those rumors became more fact when the Star Wars official account affirmed that the project was in the early stages of development with Justin Simien at the helm.
The galaxy’s favorite scoundrel, Lando Calrissian, will return in Lando, a brand-new event series for @DisneyPlus. Justin Simien (@JSim07) is in the early stages of developing the project.

Since then, things have been pretty quiet with other Star Wars offerings keeping our attention. We did, however, have thoughts about how this series could switch up canon. But, Donald Glover’s recent GQ interview affirms that he’s talking with Lucasfilm about the possibility of reprising his role as Lando Calrissian. He last played the role in Solo: A Star Wars Story. “Lando is definitely somebody I’d like to hang out with,” Glover said. “I mean we’re talking about it. That’s as much as I can say, you know, without [Lucasfilm president] Kathleen Kennedy hunting me down.”
Of course, this doesn’t mean that this scoundrel’s show is even in development. You never know with TV shows this day. But Glover’s willingness to come back is a good thing. Perhaps we will get an update on the Lando Calrissian series during this year’s Star Wars Celebration event. We’d certainly love to see Lando get back into action again. There’s truly never too much when it comes to this enduring and expansive space saga.
