Update, January 19, 2022: Guess who's back...back again. In what may be the best news this year, Dolly Parton's collaboration with Jeni's ice cream is returning once again. ICYMI, this sweet collaboration nearly broke the internet upon its release last year, so you'll want to act fast to ensure you get a pint or two this time around.

The flavor, Strawberry Pretzel Pie, features layers of salty pretzel streusel, sweet yet tangy cream cheese ice cream, and lipstick red strawberry sauce. When it first hit Jeni's website in April of last year, it sold out in minutes. This time around, the flavor is coming back to celebrate Dolly's upcoming book and accompanying album Run, Rose, Run. There will even be a special bonus track, "Rose of my Heart" available exclusively on the Jeni's website.

Purchases are limited to two Strawberry Pretzel Pie pints per order, and you can place your preorders right now online at Jeni's. Items will begin shipping in April 2022.

Original Post, April 13, 2021: Dolly Parton can do no wrong and her latest collaboration with Jeni's ice cream is further proof of that. The limited-edition Strawberry Pretzel Pie Ice Cream benefitted Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, but upon its release, people were so excited to get a pint for themselves that the website experienced a malfunction and now people are reselling the ice cream online with hiked up prices.

Dolly's flavor initially launched in-person at Jeni's scoop shops nationwide on April 8 and was set to launch for online purchases that same day at noon EST. Unfortunately, due to an incredible amount of traffic on the site, the original drop did not go very smoothly. Jeni's updated their fans and followers on Twitter the evening of April 8 to explain the mishap and said that their ordering site experienced 50 times the traffic that they're used to which led to the crash.

This may be one reason why those lucky enough to order their own pint of Strawberry Pretzel Pie are taking to eBay to try and get more than they initially paid. One listing includes a pint of the ice cream for $1,000 or the best offer. The condition is listed as a "brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item" and the seller does include in the description that 80 percent of the sale will be donated to Dolly's Imagination Library, the book gifting program that the collab is supporting. Some listings are even trying to sell promotional posters of the collaboration that were given out for free at scoops shops.

Thankfully, if you still want to try and pick up a pint for a reasonable price (pints typically go for $12), Jeni's did announce on social media that they have addressed the issue and Dolly's flavor will be available for orders once again at noon EST on April 15 for a two-day order period. The 5,000 remaining pints that Jeni's has in inventory will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis, and then at 3 p.m. EST, guests can preorder a pint that will be shipped out in August.
