Penny ran away from home in Washington and ended up in Pennsylvania! (Facebook)
Penny the puppy is on her way home after an accidental road trip.
Both Delta Air Lines and Alaska Airlines have offered to fly the dog back home after her amazing journey. Penny’s owners are currently working with the New Hope Vizsla Rescue to get her transported to the airport.
Penny is from Royal City, Washington, and was picked up in Tacoma on Dec.19 by a truck driver who thought she was a stray. That driver took her to Des Moines, before Penny showed up in Western Pennsylvania at the Banfield Pet Hospital.
Thanks to the generosity of strangers, penny is headed home. (Facebook)
“When she went missing, we thought she ran off and we were never going to see her again. We’re just happy knowing she’s alive,” Penny’s owner Kendra Brown told WPXI. “I’m sure if she could talk, she’d have quite a few adventures to talk about.”
After traveling more than 2,000 miles from home, Penny was tracked down thanks to a microchip. The family announced that Penny had been found on Christmas Eve.
Until she is transported home, Penny is being fostered by a loving woman named Krista Novak in Pennsylvania. “I’m so happy that I could help her out. I would hope someone would do the same for me if I were in the same instance, you know, the same circumstance.”
