2018 has been a year. In case you're heading into 2019 with a dismal outlook, please know that there is some good in the world, and it starts with this pup-friendly movie theater.

Opened in Plano, TX, this month, K9 Cinemas welcomes 25 people-and up to two dogs per human!-to each showing, which, in my expert opinion, is far better than any cat café business.

The genius idea came from Eric Lankford, who recently moved to Dallas with his Australian Eskimo puppy, Bear, Guide Live reports. He opened K9 Cinemas in an event space decked out with 50 padded metal chairs, a projection screen, and a concession stand with drinks (including unlimited wine!), candy, and popcorn for people and dog treats for their pets-all of which are a steal at $2 each.

Right now, the space is only open on weekends, and is showing screenings of classic holiday movies like Elf and Home Alone. Tickets cost $5 for dogs, $9 for kids, and $12.50 for adults. With any luck, this idea will grow. Per Guide Live, Eric hopes to offer screenings more frequently in the new year, and the site mentions plans to eventually open more locations.

For anyone lucky enough to be within driving distance of this glorious spot, there are a few "doggone" rules to note, meant to keep both dogs and owners happy: Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pet (a.k.a., taking them out for bathroom breaks), verifying that pets are up to date on shots (either by bringing paperwork from the vet or uploading it to their website beforehand), and limiting their crew to two pups per person. Happy movie watching, and PLEASE TAKE PICS!
