Does The Way of Water' Have a Post-Credits Scene?20th Century Fox

You just got through three hours and twelve minutes of Avatar: The Way of Water. If you’ve held in your pee this long, you deserve compensation. If you’ve been waiting for your fill of blue alien adventures for more than a decade, hopefully you’ve gotten your fix now.

The Way of Water introduced new Pandoran creatures—aren't the Tulkun the cutest alien whales you’ve ever seen?—plus OG characters returning in brand-new forms. (Looking at you, blue Colonel Quaritch.) The film also showed endless, wondrous takes of a breathtaking water world. Phew. James Cameron promised us a deep-dive back to Pandora, and he sure delivered. Now it’s time to take off your 3-D glasses, hop back on your phone, and head to Twitter to share all the thoughts you must have.

Wait a minute. Is everyone else in your theater still sitting around, legs crossed and seats still reclining, even as lovely underwater scenes play under the credits? What are they waiting for? Are they just mesmerized by Cameron’s magic spell of CGI and trying to soak up the moment? Nah, it’s the modern day conundrum of the post or mid-credits scene. You wouldn’t want to walk out early and miss out some pivotal teaser moment for the next Avatar sequel, would you? Are you going to just wait another (potential!) decade for the next one without anything to tide you over?

Well that might just be the case this time. Pull those fancy theater seats back into the upright position, folks, because there is no mid-credits scene in The Way of Water. This isn’t an Avengers movie! You’re going to have to wait until the film is released on DVD and Blu-ray to get some bonus features. You might as well get another ticket for The Way of Water to immerse yourself in Pandora, because that’s the only way you’re going to get your Avatar fix until the next movie.
