DJ Kennington to drive Humboldt Broncos tribute car at Bristol
DJ Kennington’s third Cup Series start of the season will come with a tribute to a Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League team on the hood.
Kennington, a native of St. Thomas, Ontario, will honor the Humboldt Broncos with a hood decal on his No. 96 car at Bristol this weekend. Sixteen people have died as a result of the team’s bus crash en route to a playoff game on Friday.

The bus crashed into a tractor-trailer on the highway. Ten people who were on the bus are still hospitalized. A GoFundMe set up after the accident has raised almost $10 million as of Thursday afternoon. The initial target was $4 million.
Kennington has won 19 races in the NASCAR Canadian Series. Sunday’s race at Bristol will be his ninth Cup Series start. He previously competed in the Daytona 500 and at Martinsville in 2018.
