It's been in incredible year for The D.I.Wine Show. We kicked things off with melted crayon art, took on the challenging rock vases, and even got festive with marble ornaments. Now, in the final episode of season 1, we tackled the mother of all easy DIYs: the glitter-covered champagne bottle.

This isn't a new idea by any means, but it's perfect for New Year's Eve and we'd both never done it before, so we had to try. As we often do, Danielle and I took different approaches with this craft. She covered her bottle in a base coat of silver glitter, then added a layer of colorful glitter on top. Meanwhile, I tried my hand at an ombré style using gold and purple glitter.

To get the glitter to stick on the bottle, we used Mod Podge, a crafting staple that serves as a glaze and a glue. We also kept a bottle of spray adhesive handy, which was helpful for little touch ups.

If you're going to try this at home (you definitely should) be warned: This craft is MESSY AF. Other than that, it's insanely easy to do and a blast. There are only three steps!

Directions:

Step 1: Choose your glitter.

Step 2: Using a foam paint brush, apply a generous layer of Mod Podge to your bottle. (You might want to do this in sections, especially if you're attempting an ombré pattern.)

Step 3: Pour the glitter over the champagne bottle, making sure to cover it entirely.

Voilà!

Yes, it's really that simple. If you want to try this at home, here's what you'll need...
