DIY couple turn ‘blank wall’ into a stunning playhouse for their daughter
This mom and dad went all out on a DIY playhouse for their daughter.
The couple behind @thegibbyhome showed how they converted a blank wall into a bite-sized playroom for their little one. The husband and wife are anything but noobs when it comes to DIY, so it’s certainly not an easy project to replicate for beginners. But the transformation is worth the inspiration alone.

“How we turned this blank wall into a playhouse for our daughter,” the mom explained.
The other side of the wall was the space under the basement stairs. The couple carved out the doors and windows of the playhouse. They added siding on the wall to make it look like the front of a house.
Sparing no detail, the husband and wife even made sure to include ceiling shingles. They created a dutch door, applied floral wallpaper and carpeting inside, and created flower boxes for the “outside” of the playhouse. Finally, they added toys and a play kitchen.
Tinashe is calling the shots:
“I have to say this is probably my favorite project. Mainly because it barely cost us anything. All this was leftover material that we already had around the house,” the mom said.
The video racked up 1.8 million likes on TikTok.
“Y’all just built a lil house… Love it,” someone commented.
“That is so creative!! I would’ve never thought about this!! AMAZING!” a user wrote.
“This would be a $1,500 a month apartment in New York,” another said.
“This will be such a great hang out spot when she grows up,” a person added.
“My cousin had something like this and it was my FAV thing about going to play her house when we were kids,” a TikToker replied.
