After directing the Aladdin live-action remake which grossed over $1 Billion USD, Guy Ritchie is now set to deliver another adaptation of a Disney classic, Hercules. Disney's animated Hercules film was first released 25 years ago in 1997, loosely based on the mythological hero Heracles, the son of Zeus. Taken as a baby by Hades, Hercules was forced to live among mortals as a demi-god. As he becomes a teenager, Hercules sets off on a dangerous journey to become a true hero in order to claim his place on Mount Olympus.

ABGO, the studio run by Joe and Anthony Russo (Avengers: Endgame, Extraction) will produce the film and is currently looking for writers. With a cast yet to be announced, fans have been quick to fancast their own ideal lineups for the live-action movie.

Elsewhere in entertainment, Marvel's next Disney+ Series is Wonder Man.
