Well, now that we've been away from Star Wars for a few months, let's recap what's going on in the galaxy far, far away. The Book of Boba Fett became The Mandalorian, with the bounty hunter's solo series suddenly and inexplicably handing the proverbial starfighter keys to the latter. Until Episode Six, anyway, where Boba—which was The Mandalorianalso became Ahsoka. Let me explain.

If you'll remember, Rosario Dawson's live-action take on Ahsoka Tano—who was introduced in the second season of The Mandalorian—is getting her own series, too. Tano made her grand return in Boba Fett, attempting to break up Mando and Grogu's bond. (Not on my watch.) Her reemergence might have had you wondering about where Ahsoka might take the character when it premieres. Now, we finally have a trailer for Ahsoka, which you can view below. In the preview, we're treated to a peek of Grand Admiral Thrawn, an Anakin Skywalker name-drop, and a (hologram!) of Ezra Bridger. More on him soon. In the meantime, here's everything we know about Ahsoka so far.

When Will Ahsoka Be Released?

According to Disney, Ahsoka will hit streaming on Aug. 23, 2023. We just caught up with Mando and Grogu earlier in the year with The Mandalorian, but it's already time to check back in with Ahsoka.

What Will Ahsoka Be About?

The best plot description we've seen so far comes straight from Star Wars mastermind Dave Filoni. Here's what he told Vanity Fair about the series:

Ahsoka is a continuous story. It is definitely driving toward a goal, in my mind, as opposed to being little singular adventures. That’s what I want the character to be doing, and I think that’s what fans want now. They have such a relationship with her. I’ve only recently started to understand that all those kids that watched Clone Wars are now a lot older—they’re very excited about all the things they grew up with, as they should be.

This sounds about right. Thanks to Disney, we know that Ahsoka will also take place five years after The Return of the Jedi, like The Mandalorian. So it's fitting that Tano's next adventure will see her continue her journey from The Clone Wars and Rebels animated series, as well as her brief stints on The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. The latter series shows that Tano, at least temporarily, is hanging out with Luke Skywalker as he gets his Jedi Temple rolling.

Ahsoka will reportedly be searching for a young rebel named Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi), who has become lost in space following some big battle. Darth Vader will also take part as a series antagonist, as we know that Hayden Christensen has signed back on for the legendary role once again. He'll probably show up in either flashback sequences or as a Force ghost. With Christensen also appearing in the Obi-Wan series, his story really could go anywhere.

Darth Vader aside, maybe we'll get lucky and see more bonding time between Baby Yoda and Ahsoka Tano, where the kiddo can learn a few new tricks. Crazier things have happened in Star Wars lore.
