On the penultimate episode of “America's Got Talent: All-Stars” Monday, viewers were treated once more to performances by the season’s 11 finalists before next week’s finale reveals the winner.

And it’s a vote that is truly in the hands of the people. The top act of NBC's competition will be chosen by a panel of superfans from across the country. Judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel have no say in the outcome.

The champion will receive the title of ultimate All-Star and not much else, Cowell explained Monday. “There is no prize other than the biggest prize, which is you will be crowned the best of the best,” he said.

Here are some of the evening’s shining moments.

Tom Ball's incredible 'Creep'

The Brighton, England, native’s rendition of Radiohead’s “Creep” should put him in the running for champ. Seemingly a peculiar song choice, the newlywed began singing softly, preserving the power of his pipes. He then let his vocals out of the gate as he repeatedly belted “she runs.” What the hell are you doing here? Making a strong case for winner.

Ball earned a standing ovation from the judges and audience. Cowell described it as “one of those performances which shouldn’t work but did work. It was really powerful and moving.”

Klum was also impressed. “Your ability to express your emotions and what you’re feeling while you’re singing is so powerful and so incredible,” she said. “Wow, what a performance. You couldn’t have done it better.”

Kodi Lee, Klum's 'ultimate all-star'

Before the Season 14 winner began her performance, Mandel reviewed the stakes with his fellow judges, saying Lee “needs to knock it out of the park” as Ball “gave him a run for his money.”

Lee grabbed the audience with his robust vocals. Cell phones lit the studio, swaying to the beat as Lee mesmerized the judges with his take on David Bowie's "Heroes."

“I think you’re amazing,” Mandel said before referencing the song’s lyric “we can be heroes, just for one day.” Mandel said, “Kodi, you are a hero every day. You really are.”

“You shine so bright on that stage,” Klum said, crowning Lee “the ultimate all-star. You just are! You just are! I love you so much, and this was fantastic! Heck yeah!”

Cowell praised the performance as “just stunning. Honestly, stunning.”

Klum predicted Lee would take it all.

Ana-Maria Mărgean's spellbinding duet

The teenage winner of “Romania’s Got Talent” introduced a new puppet during her ventriloquist act, trading the dog her mom made for her “mentor and vocal coach, Mrs. Know It All.” Mărgean and the puppet bewitched the audience and judges with their duet of “I Put a Spell on You.”

Klum thought the performance was flawless. Mandel compared Mărgean to a famous pop star: “Wow, if Ariana Grande was Romanian and 14 years old with a puppet, I think that’s what we’re watching.”

Cowell also had compliments for the young competitor. “There’s a massive, massive market for someone with your talent, and you really deserve to be here,” he said. “Well done.”

The winner of "AGT: All-Stars" will be revealed next Monday (8 EST/PST).
