To say that Australian actress Margot Robbie made a splash in 2014’s Wolf of Wall Street would be an understatement. She was hot, sure, but she also showed off serious acting chops across from Leonardo DiCaprio. She landed magazine covers and earned fashion’s love—and then she disappeared. But now she’s back, blowing up social media with those same model-like looks that earned her so much attention in the first place.
Robbie arrived at the 2015 Academy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night wearing a surprisingly conservative Saint Laurent gown by Hedi Slimane. The ’70s-inspired silhouette had a deep V, loosely defined waist, and sheer sleeves. But it was the antique necklace that sent a buzz down the carpet. She told Ryan Seacrest, “It’s worth more than my life!”
The antique Van Cleef & Arpels piece features diamonds and sapphires in 18K yellow gold, and Robbie added, “It was created for the Duchess of Windsor in the ’30s, I am very lucky to be wearing this.” Her blonde hair and cherry red lip completed the look—one sure to land her on every best dressed list. The Huffington Post asked, “Is Margot Robbie the new Marilyn Monroe?” and others weighed in:
The good news is, we’re about to see a lot more of Robbie. The actress stars in Will Smith’s new movie, Focus, which comes out on February 27th. Bring on the red carpets!
