As Steph noted in her recent editor's pick, the fuzzy jacket trend likely hit peak ubiquity last year, and right now the market is downright flooded with sherpa, fleece and the like, which history tells us is a sign that the trend is on its way out. With the exception of a fleece zip-up I'd had for a couple years, I didn't really buy into the trend last year. Sometimes, I like to sit trends out initially to figure out if it's something I genuinely like or that I'm just drawn to because I keep seeing others in it.
Truthfully, I'm still not exactly sure which it is, but on a recent trip to Uniqlo I just couldn't help myself and I picked up this fuzzy fleece cream-colored cardigan jacket. It's comfy, cozy, versatile and a just thin enough to be excellent layering piece. (Plus, at about $40, the price was right.) I'll likely wear it over a T-shirt and jeans in Los Angeles, but when I head to the east coast for Thanksgiving, I can layer it over a sweater or sweatshirt and under a heavier coat.
Fuzzy jackets may be a trend, but in my opinion, coziness is forever.
