Designer Amber Lewis Reveals MS Diagnosis: "Consider Your Life’s Mission Widened"
Amber Lewis broke her recent Instagram silence to share a brave update about her health. The influential interior designer is recovering at home after a visit to the hospital, where she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, commonly known as MS.
"To make a very long story short, the past couple weeks of my life have been some of the most confusing, scary, and challenging I have ever experienced," Lewis captioned a hospital gown selfie.
Lewis said the first thing she noticed was a feeling of numbness in her feet, which progressively moved through her body. She eventually went numb from her rib cage down, but she carried on until it was clear that something was "very wrong." When an MRI revealed that Lewis had lesions on her spinal chord and brain, her doctor instructed her to go to the emergency room right away.
