Derek and Hannah Jeter said “I do” in an intimate affair on July 9, 2016, but they had a huge band perform at their wedding reception. The former New York Yankees player and the Sports Illustrated model told People on September 13, 2023, that vocal harmony group Boyz II Men took the stage at their nuptials—and that it was one of the best moments from their big day. “I mean, Boyz II Men performing at our wedding was pretty good,” Derek says. Hannah also notes that the R&B group is one of their favorite bands. “That was a highlight,” the five-time World Series champion reveals.

The couple tied the knot at Meadowood Napa Valley Resort in St. Helena, California, and they hosted multiple days of events. “It was a whole weekend of festivities,” Hannah shares. “We just danced every night.” The duo just invited their closest friends and family to celebrate with them, which they said enhanced the experience. “That’s what I loved about our wedding: It wasn’t like a meet and greet,” Hannah says. “We didn’t have to go around. We just had close, close friends of ours there, and we got to have a lot of fun.”

Derek and Hannah first started dating in 2013, but they didn’t make their first public appearance together until the 2015 Met Gala. Six months after their red carpet debut, the duo subtly revealed that they were engaged. Instead of announcing it to the world, Derek referred to Hannah as his fiancée in a blog post he wrote for his website, The Players Tribune.

Just seven months after they tied the knot, the newlyweds shared on The Players Tribute that they were expecting a baby girl named Bella Raine. Their little girl was born on August 17, 2017. On January 31, 2019, they welcomed their second child, daughter Story Grey. Then, on December 2, 2021, Hannah gave birth to River Rose, their third daughter. Their fourth child, son Kaius Green, was born on May 5, 2023.

Before welcoming their son, Derek opened up to People in 2021 about how much he loved being the father of three girls. “You know, you hear it before you have kids,” he began. “People will tell you, ‘Oh, wait until you have your own,’ but it really is true.” In September 2023, after the newest addition to their family joined, the couple explained to the outlet what it was like having a son after three daughters. “It’s been different for me because I have a younger sister, and then, we had three girls, while Hannah had a brother,” Derek notes. “So, having a boy is a little different for me, but he’s been great so far.”
