Derek Jeter revealed as new Fox MLB analyst during Super Bowl 57 broadcast

From the ownership box to a studio set – that’s one way to describe the post-playing career of MLB Hall of Famer Derek Jeter.

Jeter, 48, will join FOX’s MLB coverage this upcoming season. The announcement was made during the network’s Super Bowl 57 pregame show with Jeter joining Curt Menefee, Michel Strahan and Alex Rodriguez on stage.

“I never thought in my wildest dreams we would be reunited,” Rodriguez said.

FOX’s studio show is hosted by Kevin Burkhardt, who will be the play-by-play announcer for the Super Bowl. Rodriguez, David Ortiz and Frank Thomas are the analysts – and now Jeter, too.

“I was on set at the World Series in Philly, and Ortiz kept showing me his World Series rings, so I figured I’d join the team now so we could humble him a little bit,” Jeter said.

Asked for a prediction by Jeter said he would never pick against Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, but didn’t offer a score or winner – a throwback to his playing days as a Yankee captain who was always available but never said much.

Jeter won five World Series as a player with the Yankees and was inducted to the Hall of Fame on the first ballot in 2020.  From 2017-2022, he was part of the Miami Marlins’ ownership group and was the organization’s CEO.

Derek Jeter was part of the Baseball Hall of Fame's class of 2020.
