Denim in the Desert: Levi’s Celebrates Coachella With Its Annual Pool Party
“I think denim is one of the biggest parts of festival style,” a poolside Hailey Bieber commented over the weekend at the annual Coachella x Levi’s party. “It’s such a classic staple, you just can’t go wrong.” Bieber was joined by Luka Sabbat, Emily Ratajkowski, Amandla Stenberg, Aquaria, and more denim-clad festivalgoers at the Sands Hotel and Spa.
As guests arrived, DJ Yaeji started the party off with a set spun from a stage that hovered over the pool. Trays of tequila and rosé made their way through the crowd of partygoers, who mingled among friends, catching up on the weekend’s schedule and party plans.
Bieber recently collaborated with the American denim staple on a 501 capsule collection, in anticipation of the brand’s anniversary next month. Alongside stylist Karla Welch, Bieber reimagined the classic 501 with neon colors—a column of varsity-like letter patches spell out her name across one leg. “They’re really amazing to work with,” said Bieber. “It’s just easy,” she added. Customization is key to the denim brand, and this was certainly evident at the event, where partygoers were able to trick out a pair of jeans with screen printing, tie-dying by Ev Bravado, custom letters, back patches, back pockets, colored buttons, neon tabs, fringe, and more.
St. Vincent (known while deejaying as St. Vicious) kept the party going well into the afternoon, just before Snoop Dogg took the stage to finish off the affair. Candice Huffine then made use of the pool by jumping in (in Levi’s cutoff shorts, of course) to escape the desert heat.
“Coachella or not, Levi’s is for sure my favorite,” said Bieber—a preference that, surely, everyone can agree on.
