Demi Lovato has an ally in Lizzo.

The non-binary pop star thanked Lizzo on their Instagram Stories yesterday, reposting a video where Lizzo corrects a paparazzo who had referred to Lovato as "she."

Lovato called Lizzo a "queen" in the Instagram post, which you can see here. They added, "I love you, thank you."

The video of Lizzo shows the pop star signing autographs and taking pictures with fans outside a restaurant, looking fabulous in a blonde wig and matching pink jacket and skirt. In the video, an offscreen paparazzo misgenders Lovato while asking Lizzo if the two would be performing together at the upcoming New Orleans Jazz Fest, where they are both slated to perform.

After the paparazzo asks if Lovato or their team should reach out, using "she" to refer to Lovato, Lizzo corrects him, saying "they. Their team. Demi goes by they."

Lovato announced last May that they identify as non-binary. Lovato recently spoke about their friends and family's use of gender neutral pronouns in an interview with Audacity.

“My family has done an incredible job, actually. Especially my older sister, Dallas, I’ve noticed...her using ‘them’ and ‘they’ and it really does warm my heart up to see people trying. My friends have had a little harder time to get used to it, actually. Just because I think your friends are the ones who you’re more likely to be like, ‘Biiitch! “I’m like, look, you can still call me ‘bitch.’”
