Demi Lovato was spotted looking “cozy” in a car with Mod Sun (aka Bella Thorne’s ex) in photos obtained by The Sun, and naturally, the internet has jumped to conclusions that she’s moved on amid her split from Max Ehrich. But nope.

A source tells E! News that Demi and Mod are just friends, musing, “She has been trying to surround herself with good company to occupy her time and keep her mind off the Max drama. She isn’t looking to date right now and is still healing.”

Apparently, Demi and Mod have been friends for a while and are “just hanging out for now” and she simply “isn’t looking for anything serious.” Also, the source notes that “Demi is a free spirit and loves going with the flow.” Got it!

MEANWHILE, Max was spotted with American Idol alum Sonika Vaid, who didn’t exactly confirm or deny their status, telling E! News, “I met Max recently at dinner with mutual friends. It was a fun night and we all got to hang out and head to the studio together. We’ve just been hanging out since and having fun.”
