At the beginning of January, Demi Lovato dyed her blonde pixie cut a gorgeous shade of bubblegum pink that people — ourselves included — went wild for. Now though, just a little over a month later, the "I Love Me" singer is back to her brunette roots, and she went even shorter with her hair to boot.
The 28-year-old star revealed her new look Friday evening in a video on her Instagram grid. "New hair ♥️♥️♥️," reads the caption. While Lovato's wearing a hat in the clip, you can clearly still see that her hair is brown and shorter in the front now. Previously, the singer's hair was falling just above her brows, but now she has bona fide baby bangs similar to that of Courteney Cox in Scream 3.
As it turns out, Amber Maynard Bolt — a.k.a. the artist who took Lovato pink last month — is also behind this badass transformation. The hairstylist reposted the singer's video to her own grid, along with a detailed caption about the look and how she did it.
"I had the pleasure of executing this new look on this ever changing ICON," she writes. "Demi is proof that transformation can be done on and through so many levels... I was able to go from a level 10 back down to a level 3.5."
Bolt then shares her step-by-step process, including the exact products she used. "I started by spraying the hair with @k18hair Molecular Repair Hair mist. I was able to work the product through while cutting," she explains. "Once my desired length was achieved, I used #colorwear @alfaparfusa 20g of 3 + 5g of 5.1 with 50g of 10 volume all over. No fill was needed. 20 mins."
Finally, she finished off the look by using the K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair Mask on Lovato's har to give it hydration and shine. "This leaves the hair soft and works in minutes!" says Bolt. "No need to rinse either!"
Of course, fans are in love with Lotavo's new look, leaving comments on her post like: "YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL," "Iconic queen 😍," and "OH MY GOD YOU LOOK SO GOOD."
We couldn't agree more. Congrats on the dazzling hair makeover, Demi — and hats off to Bolt for doing such a beautiful job.
