This year is already a fully mixed bag of "wtf" happenings (Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles??), but this week's prize for most head-scratching drama certainly goes to Demi Lovato vs. L.A. frozen yogurt shop The Bigg Chill.
Over the weekend, Lovato recounted "finding it extremely hard to order froyo from" the eatery because "you have to walk past tons of sugar-free cookies/other diet foods before you get to the counter" on her Instagram Stories. She included the hashtag "#dietculturevultures."
The Bigg Chill responded by noting that they carry "items for Diabetics, Celiac disease, Vegan, and of course have many indulgent items as well."
"You can carry things for other people while also caring for another percentage of your customers who struggle DAILY just to even step foot in your store," Lovato wrote in response. "You can find a way to provide an inviting environment for all people with different needs. Including eating disorders. Don't make excuses, just do better."
Twitter swiftly sided with The Bigg Chill.

Following backlash from the worldwide web, Lovato shared an IGTV video on Monday to explain her stance and apologize for the miscommunication.
"My intentions were not to come in and bully a small business," she clarified. "I walked in, was so triggered that I left without froyo and it made me really sad and that's just, that's all it was. And I wanted to talk about that."

She explained her intentions, saying, "I walked into a situation that didn't sit right with me. My intuition said speak up about this, so I did. And I feel good about that. What I don't feel good about is some of the way it's been interpreted and how the message has gotten misconstrued over all of it."
"If we can make this environment safer for everyone, including people that are in recovery from an eating disorder… while also giving froyo to vegans and people with diabetes, let's go," she continued. "Let's fucking go. Let's do it. It just has to be clear."
