Dawson's Creek Lands on Netflix November 1

To riff on a line from Paula Cole's famed theme song for the hit show from The WB, we don't want to wait...for Dawson's Creek to come to Netflix any longer. Well, we come bearing good news for fans of the famous crew from the fictional town of Capeside, Massachusetts. (Fun fact: Dawson's Creek was actually filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina.) What's the swell announcement, you ask? Brace yourself James Van Der Beek and Katie Holmes superfans, Dawson's Creek is landing on Netflix Sunday, November 1. We don't know about you, but we think we just found our plans for the entire day.

Unfortunately, the beloved theme song of the show, Paula Cole's 1996 single "I Don't Want to Wait," off of her double platinum album The Fire, won't be making an appearance on the streaming platform. As Netflix cheekily announced on social media earlier this week alongside promotional photos of the show's cast, "Dawson's Creek — one of television's most beloved coming-of-age stories — is coming to Netflix in The US on November 1 ...and before you ask, the episodes won't have the original theme song (sorry)." Based on follower replies on Twitter, it appears Netflix may very well need to make a more formal apology regarding the theme song switch-up.

If we were the betting type, we'd guess that the show will open with "Run Like Mad" by Jann Arden, as PopSugar predicted, and as Dawson's Creek does on other streaming platforms.

Speaking of other streaming platforms, if you can't wait until November 1 to relive the glory days at Capeside High, you can head over to Hulu and watch all six seasons of Dawson's Creek right now.
