Season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise is finally here! A whole new crowd of Bachelor Nation singles are back to mix, mingle, and fall in love in Mexico all over again. With two years since a new Paradise season has hit the small screens, there have definitely been some noticeable changes in the episodes (like Lil Jon's epic role as narrator).

But unlike the rotating guest hosts, the filming location this summer has stayed the same. The resort you know and love is back again, with its trusty Wells behind that good old beach bar.

Ever wondered what filming in a luxury beach resort is like? According to one guest host, it wasn't all cocktails and tiny umbrellas. Here's everything to know about where, when, and how filming this season of BiP went down:

When was BiP filmed?

Season 7 was filmed in late spring and officially wrapped up on June 26. Reality Steve noted in a blog post that filming was carefully timed to fall between Katie Thurston's and Michelle Young's Bachelorette seasons.

He also hinted that the cast probably flew down over Memorial Day weekend–so all the drama happened pretty quickly. "Bachelor in Paradise will film per usual in June at a location that hasn’t been announced yet and will begin airing after Katie’s season is done airing, per usual," he said earlier this year.

Where is the filming location?

The show was filmed at a historic Paradise site, the Playa Escondida resort in Sayulita, Mexico. The beach is beautiful, and the resort itself is a close second. There are infinity pools with stunning ocean views:

Plenty of swanky bungalow bedrooms for overnight dates:

And the sunsets!

Yep, there's no better place to call Paradise.

What's it like to be on the show?

While it may seem like tropical glitz and glamour, guest host David Spade realized that filming BiP came with some unexpected curveballs. "I went to ‘Crab city’ in Mexico and filmed in between being covered in crabs," he said, per The Aspen Times.

"It’s funny because when you go there, they say, ‘Oh, this is crab season.’ I don’t even know what that means. Crabs are supposed to be cute. I have only really heard about them from California rolls, but, when there’s too many, it’s scary," he continued.

"They’re just spiders with good PR. They walk sideways, which nobody likes, and they were in my room and bathroom every night. It was just terrifying. I had to deal with that along with all the contestants," David added. Um, no thank you.

But he did add that the actual hosting duties were pretty fun. "I would go out, do my opening remarks and then I’d lay low while they basically were out there getting heatstroke," he said. “Then I would walk out and say, ‘Hey, gather round, we’re going to do a rose ceremony. How did your date go? Did you make out?’ All that stuff.”

Crabs, sweltering heat, bunk beds—no wonder Tahzjuan was so stressed out!
