Daniel Craig may be best known for the James Bond franchise, but it looks like his biggest payday is actually coming from the two Knives Out sequels that were recently announced.

The first film, from Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson, had a theatrical release from Lionsgate. Entries two and three are going to be exclusive to Netflix, after they paid $450 million for Johnson to return to write and direct.

In a lengthy report about movie star salaries and how the already ginormous paychecks actors earn for leading cinematic releases are dwarfed by what streamers can pay out (thanks to compensation for projected box office takings), Variety revealed that Craig will make over $100 million for the two films.

The publication states that Dwayne Johnson will earn $30 million from Amazon for the film Red One, but that could climb to $50 million once box office projections are worked out.

In comparison, Chris Hemsworth is getting $20 million for Thor: Love and Thunder, a number shared by Sandra Bullock in The Lost City of D and Brad Pitt in Bullet Train. Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson is getting $3 million for The Batman.

Variety states that Warner Bros' decision to release all their 2021 films in cinemas and HBO Max has caused a big stir among their talent roster, which is interesting to note during the legal battle between The Walt Disney Company and Scarlett Johansson, who claims that Black Widow's Disney+ release has meant she's missed out on her box office royalties.
