Remember the cable-knit sweater Chris Evans wore in Knives Out? Of course you do—how could anyone forget? Evans’s cozy cream pullover kindled the desires of fangirls, launched a thousand memes, and ignited countless Google searches, such as: “Where can I buy Chris Evans’s Knives Out sweater?” (Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered).

But one person doesn’t get the hype: Daniel Craig, star of Knives Out and its new sequel, Glass Onion. Ahead of Glass Onion’s release on Netflix, Craig sat down for an interview with BBC Radio 1, where he revealed that he still doesn’t understand the sweater’s viral fame.

“It’s the bit that goes over my head,” Craig said. “I don’t understand. It’s like, so Chris Evans is wearing a jumper. It’s like he’s naked or at least naked from the sort of waist down, wearing a jumper. I’m like, ‘He’s just wearing a jumper.’ News is like, ‘Chris Evans wears jumper!’ [But] sure, it’s a living. He does it very well. He wears it very beautifully.”

You’d think that James Bond himself would know a thing or two about the female gaze, but apparently, Craig still has some things to learn about why the Internet went harder for Evans’s sweater than it ever did for the actor's skin-tight Avengers suit. Evans has donned Captain America’s uniform, stepped into Buzz Lightyear’s spacesuit, and even worn a whipped cream jockstrap in Not Another Teen Movie, but the Knives Out sweater may just be the most iconic costume of his career.

Maybe Craig is just jealous—but hey, he could be well on his way to viral sartorial fame himself, now that his Belvedere vodka ad is all over TikTok. It's only a matter of time before fans are Googling, "Where can I buy Daniel Craig's tank top?"
