  • The 2020 Dancing With the Stars season 29 cast was announced on Good Morning America Tuesday.

  • The celebrities participating this fall include Backstreet Boys singer A.J. McLean, Tiger King star Carole Baskin, Cheer coach Monica Aldama, Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe and more.

  • In reaction to the news, Dancing With the Stars some fans said this season is going to be "lit," while others weren't as enthusiastic about the lineup.

This upcoming season's Dancing With the Stars cast has officially been revealed.

On Tuesday's Good Morning America, the celebrities involved with season 29 of the ABC competition show were unveiled — however their respective professional ballroom dance partners will not be unveiled until Monday, September 14 during the show's two-hour premiere, which kicks off at 8 p.m. ET. As introduced on GMA, the celebs competing for the title and coveted Mirrorball Trophy this fall are:

  • A.J. McLean (Backstreet Boy)

  • Kaitlyn Bristowe (reality star from The Bachelor/Bachelorette)

  • Monica Aldama (Netflix Cheer coach)

  • Carole Baskin (featured in Netflix's Tiger King)

  • Vernon Davis (former NFL player)

  • Anne Heche (actress and director)

  • Skai Jackson (Disney channel star)

  • Justina Machado (One Day at a Time actress)

  • Jeannie Mai (host of The Real)

  • Jesse Metcalfe (Desperate Housewives actor)

  • Nelly (rapper and singer)

  • Charles Oakley (former NBA player)

  • Nev Schulman (Catfish host and producer)

  • Chrishell Stause (Netflix Selling Sunset star)

  • Johnny Weir (Olympic figure skater)

Reacting to the cast announcement, most folks online seemed thrilled about the season 29 lineup. One fan said she was "beyond excited" and that this season will be "SOOOO GOOOOD!" while another said "this cast of #DWTS is going to be lit." Deeming it a "great cast" another viewer said "cannot wait — need something positive and happy to watch in the midst of this unpredictable chaos we're living through."

Amid the excitement, some were already predicting this season's winner, with Johnny Weir, A.J. McLean and Skai Jackson as popular picks to take the Mirrorball. Still, not everyone was happy about the cast lineup: Some fans were less than thrilled about the inclusion of Big Cat Rescue CEO Carole Baskin, who faced backlash after being featured in Netflix's breakout hit Tiger King earlier this year. "Sorry not sorry will not be watching this season because you have Carole Baskin," said one fan, while another added "Carole Baskin? Count meowt." One viewer was left wondering "Who is the poor sap on @DancingABC that has to partner up with #carolebaskin?"

But a new crop of celebrities is far from the only thing changing in season 29. Earlier this summer, ABC parted ways with longtime co-hosts Erin Andrews and Tom Bergeron and hired Tyra Banks as a solo host and executive producer — and fans remain torn over the announcement. "I'll pass thank you... it's not Dancing without Emmy-winning host Tom," said one. Others claimed they were "mad that @Tom_Bergeron will not be there" and that "#DWTS did Tom and Erin so dirty, they should have kept them and added in Tyra."

That said, some were also skeptical of the inevitable changes to the show's format due to the coronavirus pandemic. The show is making several adjustments to ensure the safety of the cast and crew, including filming without an in-studio audience and, according to pro Emma Slater, forcing married pro dancers to quarantine apart from each other throughout season 29.

But regardless of the changes being made, we're sure the show will be just as fun and entertaining as it has been in years past. September 14, hurry up already!
