Dancing Cubs bullpen perfectly recreates 'Superbad' intro scene

The Chicago Cubs’ penchant for dancing in the bullpen has been well established by now.

Take a crew of young, exuberant pitchers who spend most of the game keeping each other company on the bench and you’re sure to get a few entertaining moments. Now give that crew a brand new, enclosed bullpen with a booming sound system and try to stop them from busting a move.

We’ve seen the Cubs hold a number dance parties during rain delays and have watched as even the surliest ballplayers try not to crack a smile when the North Siders break out a new routine.

Still, we haven’t seen anything as awesome as what the Cubs bullpen pulled off recently, creating a shot-for-funky-shot remake of the famed dancing title sequence to the 2007 comedy ‘Superbad’.

Take a look at the movie’s intro if you need any more convincing that the Cubs nailed this one.

The coming-of-age tale certainly holds a special place in the hearts of those who were teenagers when the movie debuted — not to mention the flick boasts some of the best quips and references of any Judd Apatow film.

Considering Cubs pitchers Carl Edwards Jr., Justin Wilson, Mike Montgomery and Justin Hancock were all in their teens back in 2007, this must’ve been an easy sell by Chicago’s social media team.

The dedication and commitment to making the video feel as authentic as the original is something to admire.
