Dakota Fanning gave a lesson in easy, chic minimalism while stepping out on an errand run in West Hollywood Monday.

The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star opted for a black-and-white color palette, and pulled some sleek staples to coordinate. The highlight of the outfit was a breezy linen dress from Dissh. The floor-length piece features large color block stripes in black and natural white.

Fanning expertly paired the dress with the Row's popular black flip-flops, and a black quilted leather shoulder bag. (See a similar one here, from Bottega Veneta.) The actor further accessorized with brown-and-black tortoiseshell sunglasses. She seemed to wear no jewelry or makeup, only slicking her hair back into a neat ballerina bun for a clean look.

Whether Fanning is on or off the red carpet, she always sticks to her simple-yet-sophisticated style. In April, she attended the Opening Night and Sony Pictures Entertainment presentation in Las Vegas while wearing a silky black top and a matching miniskirt. She finished the monochrome look with strappy black sandals.

And back in March, she and younger sister Elle Fanning were guests at the Power Stylists Dinner in Los Angeles, hosted by The Hollywood Reporter and Jimmy Choo. For the occasion, the eldest Fanning looked radiant in a bright red leather minidress from Loewe's Spring/Summer 2023 collection. The asymmetrical piece, in the shade nappa, featured a large faux anthurium flower on one side, which covered the actor's chest and acted as a half bra. The Effie Gray star, styled by Samantha McMillen, let the statement dress take the spotlight, pairing it simply with strappy gold sandals and a gold-and-diamond ear huggie.
