"Daisy Jones & the Six" Showrunners Are Open to Making Season 2

Daisy Jones & The Six has made its way from book pages to the small screen, thanks to the Prime Video series based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Taylor Jenkins Reid. The story follows a rock band and its constantly feuding charismatic lead singers, Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne, during their meteoric rise to fame in the 1970s. The band calls it quits after performing a sold-out show at Chicago's Soldier Field in 1977, and decades later, they reveal the truth about what led to their abrupt ending in a series of interviews.

Prime Video's Daisy Jones & The Six stars Riley Keough, Sam Claflin, Camila Morrone, and Suki Waterhouse, among others, and the first season wraps on Friday, March 24. Fans of the fictional band may be wondering if we'll see The Six back on our screens in a second season. Is Daisy Jones & The Six season 2 happening?

Season 1 of Daisy Jones & The Six debuted on Prime Video on March 3, 2023, and it covers everything that went down in the best-selling novel of the same name. As the season 1 finale just dropped, there hasn't been any official announcement on whether the series will be greenlit for a second season. However, showrunners Scott Neustadter and Will Graham are open to continuing the journey of Daisy Jones & The Six.

"I think that would be amazing. If people are interested in this story and these people, maybe we’ll get an opportunity to do that. Leave the door open," Neustadter told Variety in February 2023."Why not? If people enjoy what you’re doing and want more of it, that’s not a bad problem."

Graham added, "We had the most amazing time making the show. For me, that question goes back to Taylor and if she has another chapter for these characters in her head. If we got an opportunity to do it, I think, no question, everyone involved in the show would show up with bells on."

What would Daisy Jones & The Six season 2 be about?

Since there's only one book in the Daisy Jones & The Six universe, which inspired the entirety of season 1, there isn't any more source material that the show could follow other than its existing characters. That being said, if a second season does get greenlit by Prime Video, it will be a whole new story. The final two episodes (no spoilers here!) will likely wrap up the story we know and love from the novel, so we'll have to wait and see what the writers dream up for our fave characters if a second season does happen.
