The moment Thanksgiving is over, it’s time to swap out the pumpkin spice treats for ones that are more seasonal, like peppermint. Candy canes are the obvious option to get your fix, but Dairy Queen is combining the treat with soft-serve to create the jolliest Blizzard this side of the North Pole.

The Candy Cane Chill Blizzard Treat was first released in 2011, and also made an appearance in 2018. Run, don’t walk — because Dairy Queen is kicking off December by putting it back on its menu nationwide for the 2021 holiday season! After 3 years without it, we have a feeling people are going to be quite excited about it.

The returning option consists of vanilla soft-serve, choco chunks, and peppermint candy cane pieces. The combination of chocolate and peppermint is one that has clearly been chosen to make our holiday dreams come true! That minty, chocolatey taste is surely going to get you in the mood to turn on Elf and drink hot chocolate.

In 2019, Dairy Queen released the Peppermint Hot Cocoa Blizzard, and then brought it back the following year. Sadly, however, we won’t be getting it for 2021. We’ll fill you in on a little secret, though. The only difference between the Peppermint Hot Cocoa Blizzard and the Candy Cane Chill Blizzard is that the former also includes rich cocoa fudge. So if you’re really missing it, kindly ask a staff member at Dairy Queen to add it in, and you’re set!
