Dairy Queen’s Red Velvet Cake Blizzard Is Swirled With Cake Pieces and Cream Cheese Icing
Between all the chocolates and sweet treats, you probably already have a list of Valentine’s Day-themed treats to try. Prepare to add another one to the line-up, because Dairy Queen has brought back its festive Blizzard of the Month for February 2022: The Red Velvet Cake Blizzard Treat.
To make the tasty frozen treat, Dairy Queen mixes its vanilla soft-serve with red velvet cake pieces and cream cheese icing. The blend results in a pretty pink ice cream-like treat with red chunks of cake, so not only does it tastes festive, but it looks festive, too.
The Red Velvet Cupid Cake has also returned to Dairy Queen, but it looks different this year. The heart-shaped cake has a vanilla soft-serve base that’s mixed with chocolatey red velvet cake pieces, and there’s a layer of the Red Velvet Cake Blizzard to make it that much more indulgent. It’s topped with cream cheese icing and festive red, pink, and white sprinkles to give it that Valentine’s Day flare. It serves two to four people, so it’s perfect for a cozy night in with your other half.
Unfortunately, unlike last year, Dairy Queen is not bringing back the Choco-dipped Strawberry Blizzard Treat for 2022. The Blizzard was made with vanilla soft-serve, strawberry chunks, and choco chunks, so it tasted reminiscent of a chocolate-covered strawberry. Hmm, maybe if we (super nicely) ask someone at DQ to make us a makeshift one using the strawberry topping center from the Royal New York Cheesecake Blizzard, we can finagle our own version …
