Dad Of Murdered Teen Dylan Redwine Sentenced To 48 Years Nearly A Decade After Son’s Disappearance

In November 2012, 13-year-old Dylan Redwine was visiting his father, Mark, in Colorado when he seemingly vanished into thin air, leaving Dylan’s mother, Elaine, and older brother, Cory, horrified. The following February, Dylan’s family appeared on Dr. Phil. At the time, Mark insisted he had no idea what happened to Dylan, but Elaine and Cory said they believed he was hiding something. “When I found out Dylan was missing, my first gut reaction was Mark,” said Elaine at the time. Mark, who at first agreed – then later refused – to submit to a polygraph examination, claimed he had suspicions that his ex-wife could have been involved in Dylan’s disappearance. In June 2013, the first partial remains of Dylan’s body were recovered a few miles northeast of his father’s home. Then in 2015, more remains were found. Mark Redwine was arrested on suspicion of killing Dylan in July 2017. After multiple delays, Redwine was convicted in July 2021 of second-degree murder and child abuse resulting in the death of his son. Now 60, Redwine is serving a sentence of 48 years in prison. He is seeking an appeal and insists that he is innocent.
