A North Texas father has gone viral after providing a creative way for his 19-year-old daughter to calm down after an argument with her mother, and social media users are applauding the healthy parental relationship.
Ivana Reynoso, a student at the University of Central Oklahoma, returned home to Grand Prairie, Texas, for summer break and has had some difficulty finding summer employment. Reynoso told Dallas news station Fox 4 that not being able to find a job was what lead to an argument with her mother.
In an effort to smooth things over and to give both women some space to calm down, Reynoso's father brought her out to the garage.
He told his daughter to wait outside the garage door, and that when she heard music she could come inside. He hit play on Lady Gaga's "Just Dance," and Reynoso entered the transformed garage.
"I was just trying out my new DJ lights in the garage, and I went into the house to find my daughter and wife having a little argument," the dad said. "So I brought her in the garage to get in her in a good mood. I know she loves music and dancing."
"He could see I was in a bad mood, and he kept nudging me to dance," Reynoso said. "For a while, I wasn't having it. But after realizing my dad's efforts, I couldn't help but get in a better mood."
Reynoso, without her dad’s knowledge, set up her phone and recorded their iconic father-daughter dance and shared it on Twitter, where it has been liked more than one million times.
Many, including The Good Place actress Jameela Jamil, commented on Reynoso's father's skills at cheering her up.
However, others wondered how the mom may have felt while this dance party was happening.
Eventually, Reynoso's mom did chime in on Twitter.
"So this is what he does?! Now I'm mad all over again," she jokingly tweeted.
