On Nov. 2, families in Mexico and around the world will use colorful altars to welcome the spirits of lost relatives and ancestors into their homes.

In Austin, the city will recognize efforts to build diversity in local arts and culture with a proclamation declaring the date a "Day of Diversity and Inclusion Awareness." Later that evening, city-affiliated nonprofit EQ Austin will celebrate its fourth anniversary with a vibrant bash at 3Ten featuring over 30 artists representing the diverse communities that make our music scene rich.
