Realizing the daydreams of minimalist-leaning aesthetes is nothing new to designers Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel. In 2012, their bucket bag famously spurred a 50,000 person long waitlist before launch. In 2016, the opening of their first Soho outpost left visitors and Instagram lurkers enchanted by floor-to-ceiling camel pink.

Now, Mansur Gavriel is at it again with its latest collection. Continuing to grow a family of soft and slouchy bags, the new shape this season is the Balloon Bag, a pebbled leather that abandons the structured silhouette of the brand's famed bucket. Launching today, BAZAAR.com has an exclusive first-look.

The bag is composed of 30 leather straps carefully sewn together one-by-one, with shoulder length straps and an oval-shaped bottom that melds to the body. Speaking to BAZAAR.com, Rachel and Florina describe the look of their newest confection as "happy, clean, smooth, billowing."

The 2016 CFDA Accessories of the Year-winning designers credit their inspiration for the design to a flea market find Floriana scooped up in Europe as a teenager. "She had bought a pleated crossbody at a flea market in Europe, and we loved its soft voluminosity and hand. We liked the idea of reinventing the shape in a modern, clean way, with a beautiful, slouchy lambskin leather in beautiful colors," Mansur shares.

The balloon bag is available in five colorways: eggplant, lago, prato, lago, and black. And it isn't the only new handbag for Mansur Gavriel this fall. A long requested iteration of the bucket bag featuring a zip closure and a spacious winged tote were been both unveiled last month. There's also a mini-sized version of the zip bucket bag available in yellow, red, and peony.

In keeping with the see-now-buy-now model Mansur Gavriel adapted a few seasons back, all styles can be shopped on their site now.
