I think most of us at one time or another have seen something cool and said, "I want to do that!" For me it was a You Tube video of how to make a 3D-printed Iron Man suit. But surely that kind of hobby would require thousands of dollars and fancy equipment, right?

A little fancy, yes. But thousands of dollars? Nope. There's a particular 3D printer that has an extra-large print bed, the better to accommodate Marvel costume pieces (among other things), and right now it's on sale for an unbeatable price.

For a limited time, and while supplies last, Walmart seller Electronicstore has the Creality CR-10S Pro V2 3D printer for $329, which is 50% off the regular price and the best deal I've seen anywhere — by a lot. (Current price at Amazon: $561 after a $65-off coupon.) According to the vendor, there are only 57 of these in stock as of this writing — so if you're interested, act fast.

I've been using this printer almost daily for the past couple months, and for the most part it's been a champ. It comes mostly assembled; what's left to do should take no more than about 20 minutes.

The CR-10S Pro V2's highlights include a touchscreen interface, an auto-leveling heated print bed and a print area that measures 300mm x 300mm x 400mm — definitely on the larger size, which is great for things like Tony Stark's helmet.

However, actually removing prints from the bed can be a challenge, which is why I recommended upgrading to a glass or magnetic surface.

Here's the key thing to know: 3D printing is a complicated hobby. Even after months I consider myself a novice, just because there's so much lingo and so many variables that can affect print quality (and success). It can be maddening at times.

Fortunately, there's help to be found in various Facebook groups, Tik Tok videos and the like, and once you experience what these things can do, I expect you'll be hooked.

If you don't feel you need a print bed that's quite this big, consider the Creality CR-6 SE instead. It's a bit more novice-friendly and comes with a glass bed, so prints lift off easily once it cools. Walmart seller LesoGood Shop has that model for $340, which is $60 below what Creality proper charges.

What do you think? Are you ready to see what 3D printing has to offer? Or do you value your time and sanity too much? (I'm kidding. Kind of.) Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
