Crabtree & Evelyn Gardeners' Scrub Makes My Hands Unreasonably Soft

Crabtree & Evelyn Gardeners' Scrub Makes My Hands Unreasonably Soft

My hands and I need to tell you a story. Over the summer, I picked up a tube of this scrub. I vaguely remembered my mom using it when I was younger, and I was in the market for exfoliation and moisture, which this little tube promised to provide. It looked unassuming but, I hoped, effective. I washed my hands with it, enjoying both the texture, which is flecked with scrubby granules, and the scent, which is reminiscent of walking through an herb garden. Both great qualities. I rinsed my hands and went on with my day.

Fast forward 24 hours to me high fiving a friend. “Why are your hands so soft?” she asked. “The scrub!” I thought. As my life went on and more high fives and handshakes happened, I received an absurd number of comments on the silky softness of my hands. Each time I thought, “The scrub!”

I have now repurchased the scrub, so it’s time to share. It’s the Crabtree & Evelyn Gardeners Hand Scrub ($22, crabtreeandevelyn.com), and it comes in a little squeezable tube that’s perfect for travel. The first time I bought it, it looked a little different than it does now, as the packaging has recently undergone a redesign, but that is neither here nor there. The product is still fantastic.

Crabtree & Evelyn says it was “created with busy, hard-working hands in mind.” I am typing on a keyboard more often than I am digging in the garden, but the scrub doesn’t discriminate. What makes it so special is a combination of gentle exfoliation and intense moisture. It’s flecked with pumice, a natural exfoliant, which buffs away rough patches, and it’s also infused with rosemary leaf extract, aloe, and honey, which hydrate and also smell amazing.

If you want everyone you shake hands with to wonder where you got those silky mitts, this is the scrub you need. It’s great at waking up tired hands. It’ll also treat a pair that’s been working overtime in difficult conditions, which is why it’s marketed to gardeners. But even if you’re not regularly with spade in hand, you’ll still love this little product. Oh, and if you follow it up with the Crabtree & Evelyn Gardeners Hand Cream ($35, crabtreeandevelyn.com), you’ll really be on cloud nine. From my hands to yours!
