It's hot cocoa season! Essentially the milkshake of winter, hot cocoa is one of my favorite decadent treats. It's only right we make it into a poke cake!

We start this recipe as we always do, with a classic chocolate cake mix. Feel free to make your favorite recipe from scratch if you've got the time! Just one thing to remember: make sure to let your cake cool completely. If you don't, your pokes might get messy and stick to your spoon, making poking a much more laborious process than necessary.

Next comes the filling: marshmallow fluff of course! Simply combine fluff with water and microwave on 10 seconds. Stir it to combine and pour away. Adding a little water makes the fluff much more pourable - that way you don't have to wrestle it onto your cake!

The real star of this poke cake is the whipped cream topping. It has not one but TWO packets of hot cocoa mix, so it really does taste like the real thing! Combined with whipped cream, it whips up fluffy and the mix dissolves right into the cream. Topped with marshmallow bits and chocolate shavings, it might even be better than the real thing!
