The actress is vying for an emotional new role.
Courteney Cox has been dominating Instagram with hilarious videos about anything and everything lately.
Recently, she teamed up with Laura Dern for a funny clip in which she attempts to subtly audition for an upcoming role that she believes she's perfect for.
In the new video, Dern and Cox are spending some quality time together, but Dern has to make a business call.
She starts talking about a project in which every role is cast except one, explaining that, for the final character, "she has to be English."
Despite hearing that, Cox, who comes into the room offering to get Dern some tea, sees this as the ultimate opportunity.
Cox immediately switches to an English accent, asking Dern what kind of tea she wants, but the Big Little Lies actress doesn't seem to notice the shift and continues talking about the character they need to cast.
As Dern lists characteristics, like that the female character is "so emotional," Cox attempts to take them on and show Dern that she's the person for the job, to hilarious results.
Dern then says to whoever's on the phone, "no, it's not crybaby emotion, she's unhinged...she flies off the rails."
The 55-year-old is oblivious the whole time, even as Cox adopts the "unhinged" attitude of the uncast role, throwing a fit and grabbing the closest thing to her, saying, "this f**king phone doesn't have a charge on it" in an English accent.
Dern mutes the call, asking Cox, "Babe, what's happening?," to which Cox says, "I'm sorry, I'm just very emotional, and um, unhinged, in kind of, an English sort of way."
Even with all that laid out, Dern misses all of Cox's hints and takes the rest of the call outside, leaving Cox sad and without nabbing the role.
Cox captioned the video, "Ummm… I’m right here!"
Many fellow celebrities and fans shared how much they loved the video in the comments, with Ashley Benson writing, "I AM ON THE FLOOR 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂," while Juliette Lewis said, "This is so good 🤣."
If we're lucky, maybe we'll see these two team up for a sitcom of this style soon.
