Couple Who Welcomed Quintuplets After Fertility Struggles Have Adorable Christmas Photo Shoot
“Quintsmas” is right around the corner!
This Christmas will be an extra special one for Briana and Jordan Driskell. In May, the Kentucky couple welcomed quintuplets after facing infertility struggles for years. Now, they’re celebrating their babies’ first Christmas with an adorable photo shoot.
“Over the years, I have gotten Christmas cards from friends and family who had kids and that was hard for me considering I always wanted to be a mom and was having so many troubles trying,” Briana tells PEOPLE.
“So, I’m finally a mom and that’s one thing I was looking forward to, finally being able to send out Christmas cards with my own kids on them.”
The devoted mom handmade onesies for her five babies and the family of seven posed for several holiday photos — which the couple plans to sign: “Merry Quintsmas.” In the shots, little Zoey, Asher, Dakota, Gavin and Hollyn pose with their eyes wide, often giving sweet smirks.
“I can not believe how well they came out and how well the babies acted while we were there,” Briana tells PEOPLE. “That was pretty impressive. Getting five babies all to cooperate as well as they did and as fast as they did is just unbelievable.”
The journey to motherhood was a long one for Briana. She struggled to conceive for about two years and became pregnant with the five babies after undergoing fertility treatments. She says she was speechless when she learned she was carrying quintuplets.
“My husband almost passed out. Both our moms were in the room and his mom went outside and puked twice,” she says. “My mom just couldn’t stop saying, ‘Five?’ Five?’ It was extremely shocking.”
Doctors suggested that the couple do selective reduction, as chances of all five of the babies surviving the pregnancy were slim. However, Briana and Jordan refused and the babies were born on May 2 at just 28 weeks and 3 days, but not without some complications.
“The pregnancy was extremely hard on me. I was really sick the entire time,” she says, noting that she suffered ovarian complications and severe morning sickness. “I actually almost died during the C-section and had to be on life support for two days after my surgery. They didn’t think I was going to make it.”

The babies remained in the neonatal intensive care unit for nearly three months after the birth. Now, Briana says that life with five babies isn’t easy, but she wouldn’t have it any other way.
“It’s insane! There’s never a dull moment at my house,” the mother tells PEOPLE. “It’s pretty much chaos 24-seven. We have a baby that eats at our house about every 30 minutes.”
