A Couple Took Engagement Photos at Olive Garden—So OG Gifted Them a Honeymoon in Italy
A Tennessee couple found a unique way to give their engagement photos an Italian vibe.
The couple's photographer used a local Olive Garden as a backdrop, garnering a lot of attention on TikTok.
Now Olive Garden is sending the couple, and the photographer, on an all-expenses-paid trip to the real Italy.
We all enjoy when a restaurant hooks us up with a complementary gift: Some extra breadsticks or biscuits. A nice mint chocolate with the check. Just a little something on the house.
But for one Tennessee couple with some creative engagement photos, Olive Garden set them up with a "Taste of Italy" they'll never forget.
When Carlsey Bibb and Caden Mills posted their engagement photos to Instagram, their friends may have wondered how they found the time to fly out to Rome or Tuscany. But in fact, as photographer Shea Cravens pointed on TikTok, they got their Italian atmosphere somewhere a little closer to home: their local Olive Garden.
The genesis of the shoot was simple. Cravens, as she told Buzzfeed, was dining at Olive Garden herself: "I looked over at the building and said to my mom, 'This would be a cool spot to take some photos.'" When Bibb approached Cravens to shoot their engagement photos, she left the choice of backdrop to the photographer, who managed to get some gorgeous images out of a 6 a.m. shoot outside of a chain restaurant. All it takes is a bit of creativity.
That creativity garnered a lot of attention. Cravens' TikTok—caption: "When you want Italy vibes for your engagement photos, but you live in Tennessee ... so you take your photos at Olive Garden"—attracted more than 200,000 views, and even landed the couple an appearance on Good Morning America. Which is where the real surprise happened.
Obviously, Olive Garden caught wind of the couple's creative photoshoot, and wanted to do something special. So it was revealed on GMA that the restaurant chain was gifting the happy couple an all-expenses-paid honeymoon to, where else, Italy. And not just for the newlyweds, but their photographer, too!
As Olive Garden said in an Instagram post, "We can't wait to see you recreate this in Italy, @carlseybibb! Oh, and we're sending you too, @hunterlasheaphotography."
After getting some practice with that Tennessee Olive Garden, we can't wait to see what shots the couple can get at the Coliseum.
