There are some people who get a Costco membership because of the practicality. After all, it just makes sense to buy household staples in bulk if it means you’ll save money in the long run. Then there are those of us who have a very loose definition of household staple. Costco’s cookies & cream mini cakes? Household staple. The new Costco white chocolate cranberry mini cookies? You guessed it, household staple. Now, there’s another sweet treat from the Costco bakery to add to our list: a cherry-topped cheesecake that Reddit is going absolutely feral over.

This isn’t the first time that Costco has wowed us and everyone else with a cheesecake, but the classic cherry topping hasn’t been seen at the store before. Now, customers are reporting that cherry-topped cheesecakes are being seen in everyone’s favorite warehouse store, and the reviews are pretty positive.
One Reddit user who had sampled the new flavor shared, “It’s good! The base is the regular cheesecake, with the cherries on top…they’re a tart cherry, so they don’t taste like cough syrup,” and compared it to the store’s beloved cherry Danishes.
Others were excited by the choice of fruit topping. “Cherry is the best flavor for cheesecake,” opined one commenter. “Very rare that they aren’t topped with inferior strawberry.”
The cheesecakes feature a sweet graham cracker crust, cheesecake filling, a rich sour cream layer, a white buttercream border, and the cherry topping. Each cheesecake serves a crowd, weighing in at about six pounds, and Costco members can grab them for $22.99. They’re perfect for birthday parties, family reunions, celebrations, or just those nights when you and your friends want to throw on some caftans and have a Golden Girls moment. We’ll be counting this one as another “household staple”…don’t judge us, and we won’t judge you!
