From Town & Country

Las Vegas is enticing a different crowd these days with high-end art installations, buzzy restaurants, and now, a slick The Barbershop Cuts & Cocktails out of the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas. During the day, the three-chair barbershop, staffed by New York master barber Jose Sosa will offer appointments and walk-ins for a classic cut, beard trim or straight razor shave-and complimentary selection of whiskey and beer, of course (an undoubtedly masculine version of Drybar, which offers champagne and tea alongside blowouts).

At night, pass through the door marked Janitor to enter a gentlemanly speakeasy-replete with a vintage 1800’s mahogany bar from Kentucky. The bar will feature tightly edited cocktail list focused on whiskey and bourbon with other craft liquors, beer, and wine (though nary a vodka in sight). A rotating roster of bands and DJs, including the 442s, a house band, will entertain several nights a week, with karaoke on Tuesdays, natch.

It joins the resort's Block 16, which features uber-trendy restaurants such as Momofuku, Hattie B's Hot Chicken out of Nashville, Lardo from Portland, Ghost Donkey from New York, and others as an extension of the Cosmopolitan's renovation, which was completed last year.

Las Vegas was notoriously lax during the Prohibition, but a secret bar, away from the glitz and hustle of The Strip, is more appealing now than ever.
