#CopyThat: Gigi Hadid's Rockin' Red Eyes

Leave it up to supermodel-in-the-making Gigi Hadid to make us want to give red eye makeup a try. Our experience thus far with the vibrant shade on our lids had been an unpleasant side effect of battling a terrible head cold. But Hadid and a bevy of other models took the runway at Anna Sui’s Spring 2017 show sporting red eyes that were absolutely beautiful.

Makeup artist Alexis Williams shows us how to re-create Gigi’s rockin’ red eyes in the video above. This look is all about layering, including the genius trick of using blush as eyeshadow. Need the full breakdown? You can find all the steps and product recommendations below.

Step-by-step instructions

1. Apply coral-red blush across the eyelids with a small, flat shadow brush. (Williams used NARS Sarah Moon Blush in Impudique).

2. Brush MAC Eye Shadow in Ruddy into outer corners of eyes and halfway under lash line to intensify the red hue. Blend colors into a soft cat-eye with a clean makeup brush.

3. Apply a pale-pink shadow (try Nuance Salma Hayek Endless Eye Effects Palette in Sunset Visions ) to brow bones to highlight.

4. Lightly coat top and bottom lashes with Dior Diorshow Mascara in Black.

5. Sweep Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush (in a deep rose) on apples of cheeks.

6. Add a pop of color to lips with NARS Velvet Lip Glide in Playpen.

7. Finish the look by dusting the cupid’s bow of your mouth with a translucent shimmer shadow (Williams used Essence Eyeshadow in Rosy Happiness) to highlight the natural curves of the lips.
