Thanks to advanced science and the latest medical technology, waving “bye, bye” to stubborn fat is easier than ever. The experience and outcomes of these treatments might be simple, but figuring out which one will actually work? That’s where it gets tricky.
CoolSculpting was the treatment of choice for Linda*, age 48. Frustrated with her belly bulge, as well as her “love handles,” Linda sought the help of a professional to get her waist into shape. Linda’s nurse, Sarah Tankiewicz, RN, Lead Provider & Preceptor at Ideal Image in Rochester Hills, MI, was truly amazed by how well the treatment worked for Linda, and after just 12 weeks, Linda “showed off a midsection many would envy.”
For her first and only session, Linda had a very comfortable experience with CoolSculpting. “It varies from person to person, but most patients experience little to moderate temporary discomfort with each CoolSculpting treatment,” explains Tankiewicz. The procedure is the only FDA-cleared non-surgical fat reduction treatment that uses controlled cooling to eliminate stubborn fat that resists all efforts through diet and exercise. Meaning, it cools fat cells to induce lipolysis without damage to other tissue or structures, and only affects fat cells, sparing skin, nerves and muscle.
Linda’s goal was to obtain a flatter abdomen area and smaller flanks (also referred to as love handles), and was surprised to have achieved her desired look in one treatment and eight cycles. A cycle of a CoolSculpting treatment is when the applicator is run for a 35-45 minute cycle on one area of the body.
Although you might experience “redness, swelling, tenderness, and numbness to the area that will resolve over time, you won’t see results until 30-90 days after the treatment,” says Tankiewicz. And sometimes, you won’t see your desired results after just one treatment. “The number of treatments [you might need for a desired result] will depend on the area being treated, how much tissue is in the area to begin with, and how your body responds to treatment,” explains Tankiewicz. “Leading a healthy lifestyle in terms of health, diet and exercise will help promote better overall results.”
Not only is Linda thrilled with her results, but Tankiewicz is, too. “Through a simple, quick and safe procedure like CoolSculpting, I can offer women a solution for a noticeable change in their bodies and help them love the way they look,” says Tankiewicz.
