James Bond has had a lot of sick cars, but the most badass of all of 007’s rides is easily the Aston Martin DB5, made famous in the third Sean Connery 007 film; Goldfinger. And now, gorgeous new photos confirm that Daniel Craig’s Bond is again behind the wheel of that classic silver Aston Martin for his final adventure in No Time To Die.

On Monday, the official James Bond Twitter account revealed stunning photos of filming underway in Matera, Italy. The photo actually shows three Aston Martin DB-5s, which, if you’ve ever seen a Bond film, surely means that at least one of these cars is going to get destroyed in the process of filming. The question is: Will Bond have an ejector seat?

Since Goldfinger, the Bond films have actually used the famous DB5 sparingly. Though Bond drove the car again in Thunderball, it wasn’t until 1995’s Goldeneye that Pierce Brosnan’s Bond took the car for another spin. After that, the car appeared in 1997’s Tomorrow Never Dies and then didn’t show up again until Daniel Craig’s Bond won a DB5 in a poker game in 2006’s Casino Royale. After that, Craig drove the car twice more; in Skyfall and in the most recent Bond film; Spectre.

In terms of Craig’s tenure as Bond, one of his DB5’s was a “regular” car, while it was clear that the one he drove in Skyfall and Spectre was the tricked-out version from the Connery days; complete with hidden machine guns, and a famous ejector seat. Because No Time To Die is Craig’s last outing as 007, it’s a good bet this Aston-Martin DB5 will have more than a few gadgets hidden inside. Also, it’s worth noting that in addition to the DB5, the Bond Twitter had previously confirmed that another legendary Bond car will appear in the movie, also. Back in July, photos were released of Daniel Craig driving an all-black Aston-Martin V8, which was previously driven by Timothy Dalton in The Living Daylights. The V8 had lasers, and the DB5 did not. So, maybe Bond needs all of his old cars for his biggest adventure? (Note: Daniel Craig has now driven the Aston-Martin DB5 in all of his movies except for Quantum of Solace. Does this make the car now more associated with Craig than with Connery? If so, shocking. Positively shocking.)
So far, only Aston-Martins have dominated the new Bond car photos, but that doesn’t mean some of us aren’t holding out hope for Pierce Brosnan’s BMW Z3 or Roger’ Moore’s Lotus Esprit from The Spy Who Loved Me. After all, it’s been a long time since Bond had an underwater car…
